National Service Scheme (NSS)


The first NSS unit was started in the college campus in the year 1990. Recognizing the service rendered by our NSS Volunteers, Bharathiar University has sanctioned three more units. The main objective of NSS is development of the personality of students through community service. At present four NSS Units, with hundred volunteers in each, are deeply involved in serving the community by educating rural masses in public health and pollution, traffic regulation and social issues which are crucial for the well-being of society.

NSS is well known for its community services through extension activities such as organizing Personality Development Programmers, National Integration Camps, Blood Donation Camp, Medical Camps, Rally and awareness programme on AIDS Control, Organ Donation, Importance of Literacy and reduction of schools dropouts, Environmental Awareness Programmers, Tree plantation The first nss unit was started in the year 1990.The college has three units, with hundred volunteers in each, deeply involved in serving the community by educating rural messes on public health and pollution, traffic regulation and by bringing about an awareness of social issues which are crucial to the well being of the society.
