National Service Scheme (NSS)


The first NSS unit was started in the college campus in the year 1990. Recognizing the service rendered by SNMVNSS Volunteers, Bharathiar University sanctioned three more units. The main objective of NSS is development of the personality of students through community service. At present four NSS Units, with hundred volunteers in each, are deeply involved in serving the community by educating rural masses in public health and pollution, traffic regulation and social issues which are crucial for the well-being of society.

NSS is well known for its community services through extension activities such as organizing personality development programmes, national integration camps, blood donation camps, medical camps, rallies and awareness programmes on AIDS control, organ donation, importance of literacy and reduction of school dropouts, environmental awareness programmrs, tree plantation
